if its swollen its prolly frozen...i guess i dont know how cold it is up there but if it gets discharged and its below freezing then you have a frozen battery...not a good situation...
If this hapopens, your un-intentionally making a bomb. The right conditions and your battery can blow. Take it out, bring it inside and let it thaw out. put it back in, and you might fix your problem. -
You dont have any subs in your car do you? My roomie has a 99+ Cougar with a pretty good system in it and he has trouble starting in the cold because he sits in the car and lets it idle with the stereo up before shutting it off.
I had a little bit of pain getting my car started but it always did.

nope no subs or gauges or anything just an alarm
-
what kind of alarm do you have??
-
compustar very nice alarm, nice and sensitive haha

It's just a 2G DSM thing. Honestly, all 3 of the 2G's I've had, NEVER start when it gets really cold outside, like -15 or so. My one 1G that I had would start no matter what, it was like -30 and a shitload of windchill on top of that, and the fucker still started.

crazy, yeah and there is no way i could get it power at school even if i wanted to put a block heater in. ghetto und!
-
my 2g would start when it was -10 or colder...but i have a compustar SS and it always seems to kill my battery if it sits for a day or 2 with me starting it.

AnywayRemote Battery Shutoff Switch, Hella Brand, New
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4524005361&fromMakeTrack=trueThere is also a device that detects drain on a car battery and shuts the battery off. Comes with a wireless remote to reset it. I tried searching ebay cant find it.
Also target?walmart?kmart? has a solar charger 12 volts with cig lighter adapter, that tickles charges the battery. Check in the car automotive section. That would be a good investment. Under 30 bucks!
Check your alternator. Might not be putting out enuff to charge your battery. You might also have a loose connection. Alternators do go bad!
