          Its not that they are pieces of shit, its that they have been beat on their whole lives. 90% of the DSMs, especially 1g's, have had the shit kicked out of them. Thats why we have the problems we do when we buy them. Also, DSM's are the same as any other car in the sense that once you start modding...you start breaking more.

                  I don't believe a slipped or broken timing belt is the cars fault. Usually improperly installed or maintained...

                      Im pretty sure that the ones that are boosted, do get driven pretty hard....normally without too many problems if they are done right.

                              trust me man, this dsm has a maintenance. schedule that includes pulling the engine yearly(for one reason or another, lol its a sic car tho, thats hella fast

                                yearly maintenance shouldnt include pulling the motor. so either it wasnt taken car of like it should have been, or you have way to much time on your hands.
