I don't believe a slipped or broken timing belt is the cars fault. Usually improperly installed or maintained...

Im pretty sure that the ones that are boosted, do get driven pretty hard....normally without too many problems if they are done right.

I know they get driven hard. I never said they didn't. But you boost any car...even if done right...its still gonna break. You beat on a car, its gonna break. It doesn't matter how old or new it is either.

yearly maintenance shouldnt include pulling the motor. so either it wasnt taken car of like it should have been, or you have way to much time on your hands.

true, but when i think yearly maint. i think new plugs, tranny fluid, coolant flush, and fuel filter.

not pull engine...put back in...hope things change

I beat the shit out of my CA18 and it only screams for more. True sucker for punishment.

There's a few nasty DSM's running around down here, but most of the owners are having terrible luck with them right now.

My friend had a 67mm on his 2G TSi. Trapped 120+ on street tires, taking it easy out of the box. Driving home, he was doing more datalogging, mis-shifted the 2-3 to 1st at full throttle/boost, sheared 2 flywheel bolts, destroyed all the bearings, etc. Datalogger shit itself so we still don't know what the motor ended up revving to.

When they break....they break a buncha shit.
