You know i have read alot of good point in this thread. But who killed it were SOME of the high school kids. Who thought racing by where we stood was cool, witch in turn got us in trouble. .i agree with this but at the same time everyone on this forum that has been into cars and racing since high school was like this at 1 point. as you grow you learn. every year we have around 5 "new" younger kids that see us hanging out at lots and they think by driving as fast as they can and weaving in and out of carsis going to impress us. what they dont understand is that it is killing the scene and will NOT gain our aproval. in my opinion what needs to happen is instead of the old crew not showing up i feel they need to show up and as i try to they need to step up and say something.
I am with chuck also i enjoy a nice cruise once and a while but i would rather stand/sit around and bullshit. i learned alot just last night at the shop. (thanks wes) it would be nice to see some of the elders out again though. tufte, shane, jason, dave, matt, gsr, chuck, steven, wes, joe, kevin, kirk, johnson and so on.
just my .02

a stupid kid driving fast weaving in and out of traffic is killing the car scene? how do you figure?
I'd like to know what you guys think makes the car scene "alive?"
Hanging out in parking lots? ricing around?
Also, does it take shane, jason, tufte, gsr, ect, to make the car scene alive? lol, because thats the way your making it sound... -

i always drove like an ass hat.

It's funny that you say you drove like an ass hat and that people in this thread complain and complain and complain about that killing the scene and what not...but yet they would never say a damn thing about you killed the scene. So is it only certain people that if they drive like a dbag they are killing it? Whats the criteria exactly so i get this straight.

I dont know how many times i've seen people that are supposed to be part of the of the "scene" doing cookies an burnouts and driving like idiots in kmartparking lot. -
it would be cool if everyone could just hang out. but it seems to me that you have to be of a specific genre to roll in this town. id hang out, but feel like im not welcome. so why would i want to hang out then? i got my own crew now, and we are all about helping each other out as much as possible. not dissing on how stupid that car or this car is, or what the purpose or reason for doing mods is. seems like evryone is all about how fast there car will go in a straight line. who cares? to me, it takes more too turn both ways, and use your gas and brake pedals. to me the scene is about being friends, hanging out, and helping each other. not about whos got the most money wrapped up into their ride.

Getting stuff rolling at 8:30 strikes me as a bit too early. Kid is barely in bed and there's other stuff to take care of while there's still daylight left. By the time I'm ready to dick around at nite its like 10 or later and I have no idea where people might be.I agree thrash!!!!! On another note i was in highschool when i seen the tuners meeting on main and Mcdonalds. I thought that was cool as hell. Stop by and check out the rides. Now i dont see it anymore. I would rather hang out to meet new people and see what kind of mods are done to a car. You do have to agree though the punk kids that drive like retards get the cops attention and in turn the cops zoom in on the rest of the people with modded cars and chase us out of our hangouts. Like Kmart.....i think we all remember the notorious shopping cart problem.

Honestly, I think what makes the scene is just hanging out and getting to know eachother and having good bs sessions, Getting togather and cruising as a group once in awhile dosent hurt. Having a little more than a few hours notice about meeting somwhere might let more people find time to meet up, whether it is at k-mart, t-masters, or anywhere. As for people driving like asshats, that does hurt the guys that are minding themselves, Back home i saw it all the time, living in a small town, that was about the only thing to do was go up the the lot and hang out and bs, and then the drunk retards and kids in daddys pickups, and cars that were bought for them would come up there and raise hell, break bottles and throw trash in the parking lot, and ruin it for everyone. I know one person on here, and id really like to meet a few people on here, and bs a little, but i need a little more heads up on when meets are, having kids and a family makes it tough, but... with a little notice people may be able to make the time.

Thats different!!! Burnouts + Cruising = it all equals out and helps the scene
wrong... because that's what gets the cops on people asses. People fuck around and get caught, then insist that the cops are out to get them and quit going out.
