But they are not American...so i do not care.So we are trying to take a country that hated us, and turn them into an Ally. So what was once a threat is now a friend. And you don't care of this because....?

They aren't our ally and this isn't our war anymore. We went the to disarm a dangerous dictator and now it's time to be done. I'm totally for nuclear disarming but the US isn't the fucking Peace Corps, It's time to go home.

Here's some historical perspective on the Marshall Plan -- the policy whereby the USA rebuilt Europe after ruining its shit from Whitecastle to the Nile.
By the time the plan had come to completion, the economy of every participant state, with the exception of Germany, had grown well past pre-war levels. Over the next two decades, many regions of Western Europe would enjoy unprecedented growth and prosperity.

And an example of the USA getting it wrong:
George Crile, author of Charlie Wilson's War, the book on which the film is based, wrote that the mujahideen's victory in Afghanistan ultimately opened a power vacuum for bin Laden: "By the end of 1993, in Afghanistan itself there were no roads, no schools, just a destroyed country -- and the United States was washing its hands of any responsibility. It was in this vacuum that the Taliban and Osama bin Laden would emerge as the dominant players. It is ironic that a man who had almost nothing to do with the victory over the Red Army, Osama bin Laden, would come to personify the power of the jihad."[
...
"The part that I'll take to my grave with guilt is that . . . I didn't stay the course and stay there and push and drive the other members of Congress nuts pushing for a mini-Marshall Plan," he said. "And I let myself be frustrated and discouraged by the fact that (the Afghan) leadership was so fragmented that we were unable to do the things we needed to do, like clear the mines, like furnish them millions of tons of fertilizer to be able to replant the crops."http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Wilson%27s_War
Fantastic movie, btw.
I'm not a real fan of wars in general. You don't see me over there fighting.
But we're there on the ground, and we've got the first opportunity in a long time to get a democratic non-theistic ally in the arab world. We can walk out and let the jackholes waltz back into power, like in Afghanistan.
Or, we can make sure that when we draw down, all of those kids that run out into the streets cheering everytime US soldiers drive through (and they do, don't let anyone tell you otherwise) will have a government worth living under.
When you stomp somebody, you should clean up the mess. That way you don't have to stomp them again in a few years.

Then we'll have a women president and there's more than enough radical sexists to take care of her..... just the other side of the story.
