STi's are not great drag cars, their aerodynamics pretty much limits them to ~155 mph...add to that a close gear ratio 6 speed transmission and you can see where the problems lie in getting down the track fast.

WRX & Evo were both designed to be rally cars. Period. But last time I checked, Mitsubishi hasn't won a manufacturers title in WRC since 1998. The last Mitsubishi driven WRC winner was Tommy Makinen back in 1999. Subaru has had far better success in recent years (though still nothing like Citroen) having won in 2001 and 2003.

So in short, Evo's are better at doing things they were never designed to do whereas STi's tend to do well at their intended purpose....

So there purpose was to have 50 year old women drive rally cars?

I meant competitively....primary purpose is go from point a to point b in a safe and reliable manner.

                      Thank you chuck.

Like I said earlier I like evo's as well. I like subaru's way better. Plus I get cruise control. HAHA

How many Subarus are there that run 7's and still have a license plate attached?
