Verizon = Down

So Spoolz and I both noticed that the ENTIRE Verizon network is down...again...

*228 gives you an Altel phone message
Any dial attempts gives you a "you must pay via credit card or collect call only on this device, it is not registered in this region"

I just tried calling my work phone (Verizon) with my cell phone (Verizon) and it worked. My phone does show 1x and Extended Network rather than EVDO.

My phone hasnt worked for a few days. Went into verizon today and they said that the switch went down on friday. Then it went back up. But some people were still effected, (me). They are having some kind of technical difficulties.

I noticed that yesterday! Got a message to use a prepaid card or collect. I didnt know it was down again though. I thought verizon stock plummeted and company went under...:)

Lol exactly. My work phone is Sprint. If I leave town I generally need to use my personal Verizon phone, especially for data capabilities.

I can honestly say i have had no problems with sprint and there service in town or out of town. I have had them for 2 years, but opinions may differ. I just wish they had some more (better) phones to chose from.
