Bob sanders, ed reed and i dunno. but not him. he misses tackles. he had one good year. now what. he has a good defense to back him up and help him when he makes mistakes or misses a tackle.-
Ed Reed=Complete player. Plays well on blitzes and in run support, and has superior cover skills. The best overall safety in the league.

Polamalu=complete player. Also plays well at the line of scrimmage and in blitzing, has excellent cover skills. Able to read where the QB is going with the ball. His knack is he is not quite as fluid as Ed Reed. Doesn't have the hip fluidity to be great in the open field, ie missing some tackles(yes like you mentioned).

Bob Sanders=not a complete player. He's undersized, plays a lot better at the line of scrimmage. Is ok in pass coverage. He has a great work ethic and plays harder than everyone on the field.
-
Brian Dawkins=not a complete player. Excellent in run support and creating turn overs with huge hits. He is a game changer. Not the best coverage ability, but won't likely get beat too badly very often. Relies too much on the jarring blow, causing some tackles to be missed without wrapping up.
As for Darren Sharper, he is MAYBE #5. He looked old this year, wasn't around the ball much either. The system is not geared for him anymore, therefore his presence isn't felt as much. Takes bad angles since he lost a step, misses tackles, and is adequate at best in run support. Was excellent in his day in coverage. One of the best all time, is just getting old though.

What about laron landry, Adrian wilson, reggie nelson. Not saying any of these are better but just throwing out a couple names.also right now sharper shouldn't be in this convoAgreed, but one dimensional mostly. Wilson is a helluva run stopper...basically another LB on the field with a bit more athleticism. Landry is decent as well, about like a Brian Dawkins.
