and to add, assuming your colorado has very similar wiring to my envoy, the auto headlights are part of the BCM and can only be disabled by splicing a small control box into the harness, if you go on a colorado forum it will be easy to find

I agree, but im pretty sure in the century code it just says two forward facing bulbs XX centimeters off the ground yada yada. Nothing about being 'regulation' and color really.

wow that is very douchbag-ish of you. If im ever behind you i will be sure to put all of my 280watts of xenon right into your mirrors. And dont put hids in those fucking stock housings, they are terrible and your liable to cause an accident. In fact, if someone hits you at night and they say that your lights were not regulation you are at fault, and it can be proven in court quite easily
Yeah I'm sure you and Chuck's first thing you think about when modding your cars are other peoples safety... I'm sure neither of you have ever street raced before,

AFAIK, it IS Illegal to put High Intensity Discharge headlights into a vehicle which is not factory equiped with them. Like I said, I'll take the chance in getting pulled over, or being liable for an accident at night if someone claims it had to do with my headlights...

why would someone hit you at night if you have HID's in your non HID housing. They should be able to see you then. If anything they will hit the ditch or something.

ungodly glare would come to mind as why you could get hit. pretty hard to avoid someone if you dont know where they are in a 20ft wide orb of piercing light

Gary, if you are certain of this argument that Joel will be liable in the case of a head on collision becaue of his improperly equipped headlights, i will gladly ram his vehicle with my jeep.

I say shit to people with hids's and non proper housings all the time. It looks like complete ass and does nothing for being able to see better at night. It does how ever make the car obnoxious and unsafe. But as long as you get the fancy blue light, right? Thats 3/4 the reason why i stopped cruising, slow paced and constantly getting fucking shined with crap hid setups

some cars will get more light on the road but at the expense of other drivers saftey. If you cant be standing outside your vehicle with your headlights on and look down at them with out hurting your eyes you fucked up.

This goes for about 95% of people with those scat ass mks hid's they buy for 100 dollars and put in every fucking light hole they can find.

you couldnt be more wrong. Have you done any research on this at all? Reflector style housings are designed to work with a certain light output. If you flood the housing with light its going to reflect in every direction instead of the one its meant to.

I don't think anyone does for the original pop ups on the FC or FD...... but I am sure some that offer the flush mount setups can be had with actual HID housings

This is a guess, as all i have is a sweet sealed beam conversion

I wanted to convert my pickup to HID's because one of my headlight brackets is broke.... but after reading up, and seeing the joke of them i declined

Now I feel bad for having HIDs. But, in my defense, I have gone to a parking lot when it is pitch black and then turned them on and stood in front of the car. I checked almost every angle and could stare at them no problem. It does indeed depend on the housing. It helps that mine have caps over the end of the bulbs and a black housing around the sides of the reflector.

I've seen plenty of HID setups where yes they "put out more light", but then again it puts it out only half the distance of my "shitty" Sliverstars... I've ridden in a few cars with HIDs that you couldnt see for shit what was coming up on the road.

that would make sense being as hid's can put out as much as 3x more light. Is the road 3 times brighter? Where do you think the rest of that light goes?
