I just re-read the actual article. These were not rendered in real time. They may have used in-game textures and models, but this is not what game play is like.
Not to mention the much higher resolution then is available on PS3...

"In-game model by Gran Turismo 5 standards. Done by blueprints and huge amount of photos. Poly budget: 192 449 triangles. Textures: in total diffuse,
normal bump and specular less than 2048x2048 each. Only in-game textures were used. Only normal bump - no displacement. Part of photo reference"I was just the barer of news.

forza is far from "real" but what, in your opinion, is better? need for speed? project gotham? i think everything else pretty much fails in comparison, regardless of how lifelike it actually is. if it was that real would the game be any fun? no, because six people could drive all the cars and nobody else would buy it.

But have you ever kept a real car on a real track?
Your Enzo drifting comment seems to suggest that anything you've never done before in a real car shouldn't be possible for you to do in a video game.
I'm pointing out that that is ridiculous
