DSMer in the snow
-
I have recently moved back to Aberdeen, SD after my 5 year enlistment in the Marines and a few years of jerking off. NC wasn't all that everyone said it would be. So believe it or not, i'm back up here. And yes, there is a girl involved. Ha.
Anyways, i'm a very, very old school DSMer since the days before Buschur had his first RWD car. I was the first 11-sec 14b DSM record holder (11.98 at 113.2) set back in early 2000 but has since been broken 3 times. I have since sold that car due to money problems but have acquired others and currently building them. My daily driver is a 91 Laser FWD AT. Still mostly stock with a 13g, MBC, 3" turbo-back exhaust, but it was only $700, nearly flawless and has thus far ran a 14.3 at 97mph. That was at stock boost. I have a 14b, 550cc, 2g Maf, 255, shiftkit, end clutches and a FMIC for it. Just finding the time to put it on after the move. I am in the market for an AWD car. Anything 5-spd or AT, 90-94. So give me a shout if you know where one is.
I have worked on many cars in the last 10 years, recently quit my job as a dealership tech. I have built many DSMs, a couple Dodge turbo cars (2.2L, 2.5L), A couple Mazda turbos (323 GTX, MX6 turbo, Probe GT turbo), A couple F-bodies (LT1, LS1), A couple Thunderbird Supercoupes, Tinkered with a couple Celica All-Tracs, Many Hondas (hate them BTW), A Stealth TT, and lots of old school Mopars. In fact, find me an old Dodge Supercoupe too.
Anyways, anyone need any help or questions answered, give me a buzz and i'll see what I can do to help. I still have some DSM parts, and will have a perfect 13g turbo and 1g intercooler for sale soon.

Its too bad you still dont have that stealth... im getting lonely in this town.

I actually hated my stealth. It was from New York. I had every damn problem with that car. From a bad rear turbo, bad plug wires, dying fuel pump, clogged fuel filter, broken brakes tubes, broken fuel lines, broken exhaust cable, etc. I put a 3" ATR turbo-back on it with the test pipe, new wires, plugs, 15g's, fuel pump, injectors, etc, etc. Then the oil pump went out at 86k miles. So I sold it. It was a damn pretty car and was just starting to haul ass.......but i'd take a DSM anyday. You can actually see the turbo on them.

Welcome. If you've got the time, on August 22nd is the All Mitsu Cookout in the Twin Cities. You should bring your DSM to it. Details at:

Hey I see you have worked on turbo Mx6's. Could use some tips for my mx6!
-
It was a 1g MX6, 282,000 miles. 2.2L Turbo. Got it for $800. Gorgeous car. I've still got some pics that i'll try to get scanned. We put on a 300ZX hoodscoop (early 300Z) on the driver's side to make it functional, installed a 3" turbo-back (crush-bent) with 3" cat, Dynomax race muffler. It was actually pretty quiet. Installed a 1g DSM BOV, hacked some air silencers, advanced timing a bit and first time at the track with a slipping clutch she ran some 14.6s at 95-97mph. Not bad for 8psi. Owner got a DSM shortly afterwards and built it instead. Shame, nice car. Just got it repainted too. We ended up installing a new turbo, rebuilt head before it was abandoned.
