Grand Forks Part II

Isn't there suppose to be a meeting on the new crest today? If anyone hears it, post what they say. The prediction looks like it is going to start jumping up again on the 12th.

By the sounds of it walaker dosent like the Hesko have you guys heard anything good or bad?we like the hescos because of the versitility and time it takes to get them done.
now the price is a different story. i think the city was paying around 500 dollars for 15ft sections. the hescos are great but they have their downsides.
Wheres Joel in all this? maybe he can tell us what the river will crest at?

Moorhead displays its utter stupidty again by startin to build a dike on 8th st.
God who are the morons getting overpaid to think this childish shit up. Put the stupid dike on 4th st, then leave 1 lane open on it cause its a 1way anyways.
Fuckin idiots.

Plus the hescos leak kinda. if you put them on the street they are way better then putting them on the grass or mud. they weigh a ton and with the saturated ground the end up leaking. they did use them in hurricane katrina and according to the president of the company, which was here in town last week, they say that the hesco lasted there and never broke. it was their permanant dikes.

I don't know why he wouldn't? They are cheap and crazy fast to fill compared to other methods.Ummmm NO. They are spendy and they leak at the bottoms. There are some areas in Iowa that were/are in the process of buying them for flood control but may have cancelled their order because of the statements from certain people in our area.
I heard in our area that the city originally purchased $450,000 worth of them in the beginning. Since then I heard they have 7 miles in place. The cost per lineal foot is over $35, that puts the purchase price well over $1,000,000.00
Like someone told me they are good for stopping bullits, not water. The only good thing about them is they do go up quickly.
