I have been looking into doing the dpfi to mpfi swap on my 89 civic for some time. It has a zc sohc swapped in it but still the factory dpfi. I have looked at the how-to diagrams online but the thing thats bothering me is the injector wires. I have all the parts I need and the IM has the injector clips on them but the wires are cut off flush. This is probably something simple I am missing but do I need to get an si harness with the injector clips present or not? Thanks

it is a ton easier to just hack up a si harness and take what you need from it and put it into your dx harness where needed.

after doing enough of these it is also way easier to do when the motor is out and you can get to more area's and hide/tuck the wires into the factory harness.

the other option which i would recomend for you as i liked the way it turned out for me. is the boomslang dpfi-mpfi obd1 conversion. this thing is slick. it is a plug and play harness which involves NO cutting of the chassis harness. just modify the engine harness and your good to go.

it is way worth the money to get this conversion harness.

Looks like you just need some new injector clips with longer pigtails? Or is that your question even? Make sure to get obd0 clips. If you are wondering how to wire the injectors, here's the gist.

          Run A1, A3, A5, and A7 to injectors 1, 2, 3, and 4 respectively.
Run the black/red wire from each injector to the resistor box
Run A15 to the resistor box

          thats all for the injectors.

I hope that answered your question, if not please let us know.

The obd0-1 harnesses are nice, i'm using a rywire one on my PITA a6/y8 mini-me, and you will want to do the same if you'd like to do any real tuning or run vtec. I suppose you could use an obd0 b16 ecu but the fuel and timing maps would be way off.

Yea get an si harness and do what drifterextreme says, the conversion harness would be nice but for me it would of doubled the price of this swap and it was in a wore out crx so i just did a hack job!
