ha, i am glad he is doing it, and wish i was closer so i could partake in it....... this swap will bring him many more smiles than a fucking fwd honda

You have clearly never driven a honda with some "good" mods, i'm talking good suspension and an engine that can get the car moving. i bet a crx with a b16 will destroy a v8 swaped rx7 in the corners. and you have no proof to say it can't so shut it.

I love how the haters can't see the point in swapping a proven, light, reliable, and huge potential engine like the LS motor into an awesome lightweight platform like any of the 7's

now i love the idea of a v8 swap in a rx7, it's just that 90% of the people that do a v8 swap ruin the cars "potential" in the process. if you want to bring in the rx7's great chassis then why not also bring in the epic failer it is to put a auto into a car meant to turn? you show me a car built for turns that is auto. really there is no argument there. plus most people who swap them put in an engine that is completely backwards for the car.

maybe you should go for a ride in parker's, and let the ass actually hang out....... and then still think it is pointless compared to any FWD 4 banger:rolleyes:

Really you should be the one to talk, go take a ride in Corey's hatch and we can see you hold on for the ride. i bet parkers car is fast, but it's not a rx7 anymore.

and i didn't do mine because of parker's, mine was due to riding in gary's GN

    boost + rwd + v8 = the sex

but really Zac we all no slapping a turbo on a v8 and making big power is easy. but i would rather work on a Honda any day as it takes more to get the power out of them.

huh?? my car is not built for turns

the guys who do v8's and build to turn obviously use t56's....... and they own...

so you are honestly going to say that a civic with whatever hp versus a swapped rx7 with an equal suspension setup is going to rape the 7 on a road coarse??? are you kidding??

with the swap all you are doing is gaining, and sacrificing nothing

and how is the v8 ruining the turning ability at all on it?? a ton of 7's with v8's keep a 50/50 distribution

ok honestly please tell me that a civic as a platform vs. an rx7 as a platform is superior in any sort of way in any racing category compared to the 7.....

        a s2k is a different story

edit, and i see an auto car with a tight converter having no problems whatsoever

Again said MOST v8 swaped rx7's.... learn to read:icon_scratch:

No you missread what i said. i stated that most people that swap a v8 in a rx7. (cars that i have seen) do away with all that made the rx7 what it was. also show me a v8 swaped rx7 that is set up for road racing, it is far less common then a rx7 set up for drag. again i stated most. Zac have you ever been in a decently set up civic/crx? i doubt it.

with the swap all you are doing is gaining, and sacrificing nothing

            Zac read things please.

              I find it more interesting to make 500+hp on a 1.6L then 500+hp on a 5.0L.

              but thats me.

yeah, because we all know that a 1.6l with 500 hp will have a grrrreat torque curve compared to a 500 hp 5.0

yeah thats what i was talking about torque curve's. you know a civic weight's like 2k lbs right?

oh they also rev to like 9500 rpm, but never mind that

yeah and your point? just because its a v8 doesnt mean it cant rev high, now im not saying that a street driven DD v8 is going to rev rev to 9500, but they dont need to.

                      again i said i prefer 4 cyl.

again a v8 with boost = easy power.

                        cool beans

you know, we can argue all day long about what platform is better and what platform can do this but cant do this, but at the end of the day, its what you want, not other people. i will agree that 4 bangers can be fast, and iv ridden in some pretty fast ones. but on the flip side, v8's and other larger engines are notorious for torque and power alike. you may like 4cyl, i may like 8cyl, but the fact is, its what we like.

and then there are the people who like cars to be origional, like when bubba said he likes 7's with the wankle in them compared to the 8cyl, or people like my grandpa, who has a few old fords, A's and T's, who would never ever ever put or let someone put a v8 in one.

but the bottom line is, its what people prefer.

again, sorry bryant for the thread jack, hope your "tuning experience" comes out good.

Prefrence is one thing but a true enthusiat has an interest in all realms related. You are being very closed minded and the adding the typical stereotype in which creates the tension bewteen the realms.

lol at matt, like im some v8 humping mullet head. ive had 2 v6 cars, 2 dsms, 2 mustangs, a gto, 2 T/As, the v8 GN, and im bringing home another 6 cyl import this month. Oh, and ive never said this out loud, but i had a civic at one time, thats right. it was a black EF hatch with a B16, perfect paint, a CF lip, full tint, on 17" rims and 2" drop, so get over your honda loving bullshit. No one really gives a shit about your opinion that a "fwd b16 will smoke a v8 rx7" cause guess what, most of them actually handle better than stock since a little tq gives it some weight transfer. they generally have higher exit speeds and will pull huge lengths on the straights. "OMG a civic is only 2k lbs!!" yeah and it has 150hp, zacs car is 2600lbs and has a solid 500hp, do the math and open your eyes to something other than your tunnel vision honda bullshit
