Blown Speakers

I think one of the front speakers on my 04 Impala is blown. I want to up the sound quality a notch but I don't want to spend a ton because I'm not keeping this car forever. I also might want to get a small powered sub to hide like under a seat or on the flip down. What would doctor Chuck prescribe?
