Internet/Cable/Satalite...what do you use?

we use dsl for IP service and netflix "watch instantly" as our only TV service.

unless you are addicted to live sports, i don't see the draw of TV. anything you want can be had at the library on dvd, on netflix, or on bittorrent.

Midco has NFL network already...its on their lineup, and has been since they came to the area.

Just got done comparing prices. Midco has a hell of a deal right now.

15 mbps speed vs 5 mbps speed

$89 for 6 months, plus when it goes to regular price, it is still $30 cheaper per month for the same thing at cable one.

adding to this, my friend has a bluray receiver that streams netflix, youtube, and a couple of other video things. it's something from the lg bd series.

i'm really excited to see what happens with this device.

with something like that, assuming one doesn't use their computer for games, web-browsing, or anything productive, that would be the ultimate home-theater media center

Haha, yeah I found it after I posted. It's not showing the promotional price if you go through the forms on their site and put in your address etc...but that looks like what I might just try. Been without cable for over a month now.

Its a contract with the city of Fargo to use the infrastructure.

And I think the contract was renewed a couple years ago (before MidCo started pursuing the area) and it'll be a few years before it opens up again.

so... that's a confirmation of my statement? ouch, no wonder there is such an exodus of people moving to west fargo and moorhead
