Ben Bernanke gets owned

WOW, I find this quite humorous and angering at the same time. Poor old Joe Schmoe from down the street can't get a loan to fix his house because his insurance didn't cover flood damage but the goverment can GIVE half a trillion dollars away to foreign countries, this is why people hate our goverment. And where the fuck is my $3000, oh that's right, some New Zealander has it.
This is pure and utter bullshit. -
how was that an owning? on rep pointed out a few things that don't mean much, then the chairman said: "hey, global economy benefits from this action". For those of you that don't know, global market stability greatly effect our own. Also, as stated: lending this money earns our country intrest and does not stop money lending to US citizens.

You did not listen. No one gave money away. They loaned money to other countries banks, who loaned it to smaller banks who made their usual loans with it.The person in New Zealand who qualifies for 3000$ gets the loan. If you go to a bank and qualify, you can get $3000 too. Then you and the guy in New Zealand can both pay interest on the loans, but only the New Zealander is paying our government interest for sure. You might just be paying the bank.

I'm going to have to agree with Colin on this one. Unless what he did was specifically not in his authority, I'd say that Bernanke was doing his job?

If they have the authority to loan money to the world bank then the money is theirs to lend. If they don't have the authority, I would tend to agree with you.
