Got a jesel drive, pan, etc.. I am still screwing around with fiberglass and shopping for heads and internals. Making a convertible into a hardtop sucks. I have all winter anyway. 1739lbs as it sits now with mockup block, iron heads and glide case. Should come in under 2400lbs

come on man you need to keep an updated build thread.

I love reading along through good build threads with pics, and this is a sweet project

I hate when people build something and bam there it is... you dont get to see what the did or any of the good stuff along the way

do it for me so i can see what kind of stuff you are doing, and to make everyone jealous, haha

Right next to the un-bent linkage that rolls up the passenger window during thunderstorms.

That is pretty damn sweet. I like the idea of the custom hardtop and such. Pretty sweet.

No doubt its been answered or I'd ask about weight savings, rigidity/integrity, etc etc gained by ditching the vert parts (unless you just ditched the soft top itself?

                Go your car.

I didnt get the convertible deck, top, or frame when I got the car so I have no idea what the stock stuff weighed. The fiberglass top is probably 10lbs and the slickback about 3lbs w/o lexan. The top in the pic is just sitting on the car and not dzused down. Looks bad in the pic, but it fits really well.

Did you use some sort of drafting program to design the kamback, or slick back or whatever? They make some sharp stuff you can use to determine most favorable aero properties for pieces like that.

I know trolling around Ecomodder.com I found some fun stuff to play with. (surprisingly useful info there, despite their misguided intentions!)

                          Looks 'slick.'

I dont know anything about drafting and cant draw a straight line. I just used 2 strips of aluminum bent to get the contour, green tape, construction paper and a little filler then just eyeballed it. I blocked it and was pretty happy with it. One little high spot. Good enough for a racecar.
