Go to download.com and dl spybot search and destroy and/or adaware6 and try running them if you think you have spyware. I have both and they work. The best part is that it's free. winmx should work fine as long as you dont have a firewall installed on your comp. I've seen problems with that. If you are running windows xp and have the windows service pack that has the security center option installed, check your firewall settings. It has been known to cause problems with p2p programs. You might want to check your settings. And for god sake, DONT USE KAZAA!! If anything, use kazaa lite (no spyware).

altho spybot search and destroy works it is actually spyware itself...and mwc...you mean if he has a router you type the routers IP address into the address bar and configure it on the routers web based GUI....

i would start off with checking to see if u have a 5volt reference coming from the flux capacitor if that doesnt work i would check the WWF port and see if the thingy-ma-bob has a cookie or possibly a brownie stuck in it, at the same time check to make sure your hard drive hasnt gone soft!

You forgot to tell him to make sure there are Dodge emblems everywhere inside there as well, cuz you know you can never have enough "RAM"

turn off windows xp firewall, install a 3rd party one (kerio for instance), forward all the proper ports. that should fix it. otherwise you will be operating in passive mode and will not be able to connect directly to another ip to download anything, which sucks. there are all sorts of faqs availible at the homepages of the various softwares that explain solutions to exactly these problems. do you have xp service pack 2? if so that could be the cause of your problems. it limits the number of ports you can have open at any one time. i was having some of the same problems, albeit with bittorrent, and getting rid of sp2 was the key.

just turn off the firewall. thats all you need to do. it doesnt do any good anyway. youd think that with the billions and billions of dollars microsoft has, they could make something that actually works.
