Fortunately I got rid of the car that would have cost a FORTUNE to make fast and bought a car that had at least a couple things going for it already....but it still cost me about $3k more than I originally thought...but then again, my original plans were much smaller too...then I started hanging out w/ Matt and Dave and they corrupted me.

or you could just spend $500 more and get a true non-ebay'ed turbo kit from SLS that im sure will kick the one you are talking abouts ass...that and it comes with a warranty and theres no shipping to you involved...worth it to me if i was you...that and if anything happens at all im sure SLS would fix it for ya...bottom line (as i have found out before myself) online = sucks, actual store = good...so yea, thats my .02

everyone puts this out to be rocket science. If you want quality, you gotta pay, bottom line. quality and quantity does not cost $1400. I figured after spending about 2 grand on my car I would be in the 12s. $8000 later it's broken. All I'm saying is be carefull when you do buy a turbo setup. Everyone is out to make a buck.

nah, not making fun of you at all. My first "Tuner" was an 88 Prelude Si. Hard car to find parts for, though the parts that could be found were usually pretty decent.

Torbert, if you read, it says that it has the same components as a DRAG TURBO KIT=GOOD QUALITY.Is this being bought off of ebay? If so, then its definately a buyer-beware thing (any online store is really). I know of at least one person who got screwed on Ebay thinking he was getting a JG built motor capable of handling 40psi that turned out to be a JG Head, Morosso Oil Pan and stock pistons that were installed wrong and scratched the shit out of the cylinder walls (didn't debur the rings or something). Guess he won't be making the 600whp that he hoped for..... You get what you pay for and for the added peace of mind, I'd fork over the extra cash and have tufte build you one. At least then you know what you're getting.

Ouch that sucks!

yeah, just glad it wasn't me.

I give up. stupid dsmWhy would you do that in a DSM. You know that they break. haha. i know that buying from online stores and ebay are a buyer-be-ware thing. and no, the kit isnt off of ebay. i have been screwed off ebay before. hey torbs remeber the Z. haha

i think i am just going to go with the greddy kit. Im not going to be running any insane amounts of boost, prolly 7-8psi. and the greddy kit comes with everything except the following to be able to run it:
Fuel pump
Injectors
Boost Controller
Fuel Preasure regulator
BOV
Boost Guageeventually i would get an intercooler and new piping, but that would be later on.
So for 1400 plus the cost of the Injectors, Fuel Preasure reg, BOV, MBC, Fuel pump and boost guage that will be good enough for me.

but if you want you can buy my 450's and afc!

the BOV and fuel stuff are for when i crank up the boost past the stock 5.5psi. i have done shitloads of research on the greddy kit and if you go past the stock boost settings they recomend a boost guage, BOV, FMIC, Injectors, Fuel pump, Fuel Preasure regulator and of course, lots of tuning. They say E-manage can handle any amount of boost unless it requires some massive injectors like 800cc and i am planning on running about 7-8 sometime this summer. But for now just the greddy kit will be fine.
also, i forgot to mention that the greddy kit after you upgrade the fuel system and get a BOV and front mount, is good for 15psi.
