Turbo GSXR-1000
-
Not sure if I'm early or late with this thread. We've started on the bike, but it won't be finished 'til late winter/early spring.
The plan is to build the first turbo sportbike in the area, and be the first 8 second streetbike in the area as well.
The bike is a 2008 GSXR-1000. On a stock motor with bolt-ons, the bike has been in the 9.50's.
The bike will be built with parts/service from:
-Orient Express - motor internals -Velocity Racing - turbo system -McIntosh Machine & Fabrication - swingarm -Laske Fabrication - metal fabrication -Solid Performance - assembly & tuning -Tintmasters - various pieces/accessoriesThe bike.

How it looks currently.

A few weeks ago the motor was pulled and these were installed.
Cometic headgasket. Head studs/nuts, manual cam chain tensioner and valve springs from Orient Express.

Forks internally lowered by Chuck at Solid Performance. (lowered fork on top vs. stock length fork)

Ohlins steering damper.

Exoticycle billet quick access clutch cover.

I'll update as progress continues.

Looks very nice, should be nice to see the outcome. Do you have dyno results from before? And can we expect to see this thing on the street regularly, or mostly a strip bike??
Also, im assuming a misprint, but 20mm compressor??

The bike made 170 HP in its previous state (Brock's pipe, PC3, tune).
This bike should be on the street regularly.
Yep, misprint. 2860. Thanks.
