Corwin service dept is by far worthless! i had a brand new OEM motor/injectors installed by Watertown chrysler w/ a total bill of $13,800. 1200 miles later im noticing its smoking on startup and when cold, bring it in to Corwn they have it 3 days w/ no calls and no return calls to let me know whats going on. Finally i show up and was informed to break it in for another 5k miles and if it still smokes return and they'll look into it further.

    Cliff notes:

-1900 miles after bringing in for smoking motor blows up!
-Been @ Corwin almost a week yet to receive a call return call, or an answer.
-Have had to drive there twice to be able to talk to anyone and nothings been done.
-Watertown Chrysler had the truck complete w/in 1 week or being dropped off and included bringing as motor in. Corwin 1 week no calls, no work being done.

Was told the first go around to not bring the vehicle to Corwin serive so i had it hauled to Watertown, and now i see why i was informed to avoid Corwin @ all cost. Im tempted to have it towed back to Watertown.

yea unfortunately i have nothing to do with chryslers service department, i dont even see their paperwork. or even other advisors honda work for the most part. i only take care of my customers, but i wish i could have been a little more involved with both nicks and matts services just to try and help the situation a little better. i cant say why or why not they wouldnt have called you but i know if for some reason they thought they had worked something out and thought they had a good chunk of time they would wait till a tech had enough time to really take a good look at it. especially when it comes to a "blown motor" thats something that is going to need a good amount of time to look at and we cant just guess when its going to need to be warantied by someone.

but like i said i have no idea anything about this RO and if i can help in anyway id be glad to.

Tried to get in contact again yesterday w/ my service advisor and still did not answer or receive a call back. Hell had the receptionist try put me threw to anyone in the Chrysler side and 4 out of 5 times no one picks up. Finally got ahold of one of them but he wasdn't on my ticket and all he could say was it was an open ticket. Finally a week later im fed up and talk to the service manager and start bitching that this is ridiculous and wow that made a difference, half hour later i received a call back from MY service advisor.

In the end not to difficult to diagnose it needs replacement when both sides of the block are blown apart. All in all finally now they've looked @ it and everything is being replaced. had the not been neglegent the first time when i brought it in to be diagnosed this whole situation probably wouldn't have been going on right now and a brand new motor wouldn't have been pissed away to the scrap yard like it is now. So i guess i'll see how it rides out from here and how timely things are done and if theres any contact made as to eta.

That thing had to have fueling mods, how did they still warranty it?

Corwin does blow. I personally know a couple people now, who are dissatisfied with their service, not to mention a ton of employees who hate working there, haha.

He paid for a new Motor, so warranty obviously didn't cover it. I bet that it was bone stock when the new motor started smoking tho, from what I read I guess.

Good question, you tell me. Thus the reason why i brought it in as something wasn't right as the truck is stock minus exhaust. Was given the you just need to break it in speach..... Pretty sure if i drove a 2010 off the lot its not gonna smoke on startup and when cold. So bascically that was the serive advice i got after it sitting there for 3 days. 1900 miles later the motor imploded. Keep in mind this was a brand new OEM longblock.

when i first started reading this i was thinking, oh must have been a 53 block 24valve, then i remembered that you have a common rail. warranty did no cover it when you brought it in?
