IF NADA resale value has anything to say about it, a 2004 S2000 w/ 60,000 miles has a clean retail value of $16,050 (MSRP was $32,800 when new). Versus 2004 330i w/ 60,000 miles having a resale value of $21,025 (fully loaded) which sold for $44,900 new.
So, the Honda S2000 has depreciated to 49% of what it was worth new (lost $16,750)
The 330i is worth 47% of what it was new (lost $23,875)
So, my conclusion is that the Honda is a better car than a BMW, based on what people are willing to pay for them used.

... or that there are a billion 3 series running around, and not many S2K's hehe, and also that the E46 now is a generation behind... (almost two)

I can see if you were comparing evo vs sti.....which most people or magazines do for a reason..
I dont see motortrend comparing civics to 3 series bmw's....pretty sure theres common knowledge behind that.
Lets compare the Bentley GT coupe to the BMW z4 roadster!
