you cant just swap another drive in... you have to flash the specific key to the new drive.

There is a unique key associated with each xbox motherboard / dvd drive. You need to take the key off of the original drive and put it on the new drive / spoof the correct version for the xbox to play games.

Weren't you just asking about an install disc for windows?

This involves reading the firmware off the drive, spoofing it and reflashing to the DVD drive.

Don't loose your key, or accidentally erase it from the flash or you'll have a big paper weight of an xbox.
