Yeah, I would have to agree. Factory tunes are ridiculously conservative.

But back to the topic- Mustangs suck dick. Big dick.

But at least mustangs are better than BMWs.

If you take a boosted car and increase the boost, you should make more power. If you don't, there is something wrong. I'd like to see numbers where they aren't increasing the boost to create more power. That wasn't just a remap of the fuel curve.

He didn't increase boost, he straightened out the fueling and mivec, and got it to hold steady boost rather than dropping off. I never claimed any different, just showed an example of a car gaining 32-38%. It is common knowledge factory tunes are very conservative, especially on boosted cars, but even N/A can gain decent power with fueling, and especially variable cam timing adjustments.

Going from 12psi to 16psi is a boost increase.

That would be the same peak boost, just getting it to hold boost rather than drop off like it does from the factory (AKA "Tuning")

32% peak, but in the mid-rang he gained ~38%.

Eurofan claims that Ford, and all the Domestic makes, have lost sight of what's important, or their "priorities" I think. So you see no correlation between drag racing and any other motorsport? You assume that they are not doing any testing to make it handle better. Every race has a start correct? Usually involving a sprint to the first corner down a straightaway. Ever watch any trans am racing, or SCCA? Mustangs do just fine there against some stiff German competition. The new mustang even has a brembo brake upgrade availabe from the factory. So what if it has a solid rear axle, if it smokes the bimmers and porsches on the track I guess it works, and if it aint broke don't fix it.

So back to his post that their priorities need to be reevaluated. Don't you think that Ford knows the mustangs demographic a little by now? I mean they have only been selling the things for like 46 years. Isn't it logical to assume that a lot of new mustangs will see some time at the drag strip and significantly less will see a road course? You also brought up the cheap plasticky interior, I agree with you here somewhat it isn't very appealing but have you sat in a 65 and then an 05. I have and its like a time capsule, there is so much of the old pony car character in the interior I could give a shit about how the dash or the door panel feels on the rare occasion that I touch it. Another thing is it keeps costs down, so maybe I can't afford a new one right now but I can damn sure afford myself an 07 or 08 GT. Yes that is because it has depreciated in value a lot, but what about a 07 or 08 3 series could I touch one for 15 to 20K? If so, the depreciation is a lot more significant there.

In summary you don't know shit but thanks for playing.
