there is no point in contesting to get out of the ticket. he clocked you at 45 and its gunna stick in court no matter what. if anything try to get the point taken off the ticket. if you have a clean record and can show that your a good driver there is a chance they will drop the point.

    maybe

Is that common for them to drop the point? I have a clean record. I'll pay the ticket. I dont care about $15 lol i just want my insurance to go down.

i don't think one point will change your insurance... having a clean record helps.

If you show up to court and explain that you know you were goin to fast and that you would gladly pay the ticket, then ask if you can have the point dropped im sure they will do it. just plead to them that you have a clean record.

like the other guy said, one point for a speeding ticket isnt gunna hurt anything anyway. i got a $100 ticket and lost 3 point for racing and mine only went up $7 a month lol :icon_cheers:

I don't think the one point will make it your record. In my younger years I had numerous 70 in a 55 and never got any points. The $15 fine didn't deter me from speeding. I don't think they add the point unless you already have points.

I HIGHLY doubt they'll drop the point on the ticket. That is set forth by the ND century code. Besides, it's not the point that hurts the insurance, it's the infraction. If you could somehow get them to dismiss the ticket, that is the only way it won't go on your record.

Not 100% sure but I thought it doesn't make it to your driving record that insurance sees until its three points.

Ive got plenty of tickets but according to my insurance I only have two things on there from back in 07

well if your a Nd resident, the point will be off your Dl in 3 month as long as you dont get another ticket with points on ur record. and the ticket should be off your record in 3 years

In ND, violations that are 2 pts or fewer are not reportable. Pay the ticket and move on.

I've also found that infractions from MN don't appear to show up in ND.

If you change insurance and lie about receiving the ticket, that's fraud. But if you stay with the same insurer they won't find out about it.

ND Tickets transfer to MN. Its a completely different system across the river. All tickets go on your record and affect insurance rates.

I have gotten tickets in MN and ND, and MN cops have never mentioned my ND speeding tickets, but they did see my ND tint ticket on my record.

Anyways, quit being dumb, you were speeding, got caught fairly, and got a tiny ticket, you should consider yourself lucky, in MN that would have been a ~$130 ticket.

This. No matter how small the ND tickets(I've gotten one for $10 and one for $15), they go on your MN record for whatever reason. I've had a few big ones in MN that didn't even show up, but I got dinged because of my $10 ND one that wasn't supposed to effect my insurance.

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!
