A few 2JZ questions.

So I searched and didnt find much of what I wanted...soo, Im going to see how smart you guys are lol.

1. Whats the difference between 2JZ-GTE VVT-i and the regular 2JZ-GTE?

2. Does the 2JZ's block need a certain type of engine stand or does any work?

VVT-i=variable valve timing...supposedly spools turbos really well. Also, they supposedly have weaker rods.

ah ok, so is it a performane gain? I know that it was used on the N/A 2JZ and is mostly on automatics? the turbos may spool up quicker but im guessing that because of the weaker rods, the regular 2JZ is prefferred?

The VVT-i motor was turbo in Japan, and I thought the 98 USDM Supras, but not sure on that. It's gotta better flowing head overall, but it's one more thing to tune. Most people worried about rods already have aftermarket anyway.

You can use a regular old domestic engine stand. My engine is sitting in one right now.
