Soo Line trains (CP Rail) averaged 517 mpg in 2007. Maybe we should all buy trains for fuel economy and towing capacity?

But the point here is not that your rucus is lighter than a bmw, its that this is a luxury car that gets the same, better in most cases than a encono-box. I doubt this car will ever make it over here, but my next new car will be a 335d. Be prepared to start slowly saying goodbye to new gasoline cars in the next 15 years, diesel is taking over, in some places, it already has.

Thank you. 335d's are stupid fast, the gas millage that goes with it is equally insane. More tqs than a dodge ram hemi, and just as friendly as a prius

Yes, because a friendly car would stick its own gas pedal to the floor of the car forcing you acclerate with no control(sarcasm). Yes the car is friendly on gas(fact), but not when being forced to be speeding down the interstate with no control over how fast or slow you make the car go(opinion on friendliness of car).

                    better?

Most of that is driver retardation, there were ways to stop them. Turn it off, take it out of gear, etc. I'm not writing off the problem, it certainly is one but its not a life and death issue. Ive been saying for years that everyone should have to take their drivers test in a 1950's chevy grain truck, manual brakes, manual steering, 3 on the tree, sticky throttle the works. If that were the case the drivers that had issues would have been able to stop.
