New milestone for the turbo GSXR-1000
-
We had a great day a the track yesterday. We made a lot of progress with the setup of our new clutch, and gave a 'rookie' rider a shot making his first 8 second pass.
Bryce Pageler('Drama'), who has ridden his own '06 GSXR-1000 into the 9.20s, took the reigns of the turbo bike, and helped us make outstanding progress.
On our first pass, we were able to keep the front tire on the ground through first gear, and Drama rolled to an 8.379, which is the quickest pass the bike has ever made, eclipsing the previous mark of 8.397. This was with a 14 mph headwind as well.
Our second pass produced a wheelie around 100 feet, and the bike slowed to an 8.69.
For the third pass, we made a front end chassis adjustment to hopefully keep the front tire on the ground, and turned up the boost in every gear except for first. This would throw approximately 90% of everything we had at the track.
The front wheel stayed down and the boost hit hard.
60'............1.416
330'..........3.616
660'..........5.400
MPH..........139.29
990'..........6.866
1320'.........8.202
MPH...........168.22This was still with the 14mph headwind.
That would be our last pass of the day, as the track was closed down to eighth mile due to low track temperature.
