I need to put new tires on my summer rims, and as they are 5 years old and this is a daily driver, there are some curb rash spots I'd like to get fixed up before i throw on the new tires.

I am trying to figure out how I'd like to address the rash. Places like Wheels America have a flat rate of like $170 per wheel to fix anything from light scratching to wheel being triangular. Seems like a bad deal for just curb rash.

Then there's this other place in Duluth: http://curbrash.com/duluth-wheel-repair.htm

...But I haven't called them yet to see if I can mail wheels there / have them mail them back affordably.

You can of course get the curb rash repair kits like this one: http://www.bavauto.com/fland.asp?part=AW-KIT

But that requires me to set aside the time to do it and do a good job.. something I'm disinclined to go after.

So -- what say you? How have you guys taken care of your curb rash problems? Anyone in town that does good repairs ?

You may want to check out twin city wheel repair. Pretty popular with the guys on MNaudi board.

          Precision Wheel Service 10921 Excelsior Blvd. #106. Hopkins, MN 55343 (952) 881-3010. Toll-free: (800) 255-6973

I've used these guys before and they were honest and did a good job.

However, Wheel's America, did the best damn job I've ever seen on two of my wheels that I had bent.
