      no need to buy an import if you have a good car, I'm just saying if you want to compare things lets compare costs. That 04 SVT is a bit more expensive than my car is....let me bring mine to the same cost level and lets have a race. The SVT will lose in a $ vs $ race.

            I want to see them do those numbers w/ half the cylinders.

            You might have your wish. The sprint cars use a hemi IL4 for the motors. They make 350 hp from 166 cubic inches NA. Now conside doing some sort of forced induction and nos like import tuners do. I'm sure you could get a good amount of hp out of that.

            '93 Dodge Dakota dropped with a borla muffler and custom painted interier. :o :eek:

              Thats not fair either. Both have there advantages/disadvantages. You are only capitalizing on the advantages to your car.

              What if I said, which car would win with a $45,000 total into the car?

              Would you change your story?

              It's all in how you put it.

                    Which was kinda my point inthe first place. You can't really compare the two. I personally think its pretty impressive to take a car that is primarily designed for rally yet still can run w/ the big v8's down the 1/4 mile. I'd love to see an SVT in stock form run around a WRC style rally....you do see stock (near stock...have to have cages) run the rally stages however. So to be able to be such a versatile vehicle I think thats a HUGE advantage of owning an import such as an EVO or WRX or STi.

                      i think its funny that people with their 300hp N/A motors talk about boosting them and making a ton of power...they forget the fact that most of those motors are high compression and not built to take boost...

                      At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

                          You also need to realize that high compression motors can make a TON of power of low boost applications.

                                This is getting dumb you guys...

                                There are many routes to having a fast car, different cars for different people, just becuase one person goes at it a seperate way doesnt mean you have to hate on it.

                                Import and Domestic guys can be cocky and thats what makes them incompatible...

                                I think everybody just needs to realize that, its not how you go about it, its the end result.

                                  yeah if it flows enough...personally id rather have a lower compression stock FI motor that was built from the factory like my 4G63 so i can bolt on a huge turbo some top end shit and be damn fast...but thats neither here nor there cause i personally love the sound of a revved v8-v10-v12 or even v6 just as much as i love the sound of my turbo spooling and my bov in between gears

                                          Basicly it's what you like and/or want thats important. 4,6,8,10 or whatever. You can get the same result from any motor, its the way you get there that people get hung up on.
