Haha. Everyone. The percentage of people who don't drive a 4g63 powered car (or some variant of Impreza) are pretty slim.

I hope you aren't insinuating that the 4g63 is used in an Impreza based car from Subaru but rather that this site is heavily populated by BOTH 4g63 DSM's and Subarus w/ boxer motors.

      2. I have a 16g on my car right now, I like it, but I think id be happier with a 50 trim 😄
      3. Tranny is doing pretty good...3rd gear is a little grindy when going in at high rpm's
      4. I dont know much about the rear-ends but I have a 4 bolt
      5. exhaust manifold (1g's) and crank pulley are the only things I can think about off the top of my head...im sure the other dsm owners will add to this list 😛

i know of a 4bolt(or did) for $350 if you are looking to get one...and i honestly wish i woulda gone bigger but it woulda been pointless without an intake manifold and cams which im sure youve heard me say...and you know my setup i believe

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

I think going with a 50 trim would be too big of a step right now. There are more parts that I would need in order to run a 50 trim over the 16g. I will probably end up going to a 50 trim after this summer is over but it will be a slow progression because of the additional parts that are needed.

I think that my rear-end should be fine because I don't think I will get even close to 11.2 pass at the track. The only thing really holding back my car that is major right now is that damned transmission.

              Thanks for the help guys.

Another question I think you could answer it for me Kevin. If I buy one of SLS's manifolds for my 16g could I re-use it once I get my 50 trim?

The 50 trim is the new Big 16g. Spoolup isn't drastic, power is great. Good street turbo.

You can use your stock manifold, just get it ported. If your going with a tubular manifold, check out straight garett turbos and have a manifold flanged for t3/t4 (instead of a mitsu hybrid).

The parts needed for a big16 are almost the same as a 50... you'd need:

                      Injectors
                      Fuel Pump
                      Fuel Control (AFC)
                      Front Mount and Piping
                      Blow Off Valve

50 you need oil line kit...

I'm trying to think if there is anything else.... maybe a fuel pressure regulator

                            1. I have a 97 GSX.

                            2. I run a large Forced Performance turbo, the FP3065

                            3. Current transmission is great, it's as far from stock as you can possibly get, so my info isn't much good for your situation.

                            4. You can run the 3 bolt rear end for quite a while as long as you're careful with it. When I had a 1G a few years ago, I broke a rear axle on the street with only a MBC, filter, 3" turbo back, and centerforce clutch. It's all about how you launch the car.

                            5. Just like someone said, be prepared for that car to break the bank!!

I talked to Shep and he said that a standard rebuild will hold what I want to do easily.
