Hey CJ, if you guys wanna keep it friendly, you guys in suedes might wanna talk to some of the guys that just show up. Ask them how they are doin what they got planned for their rides, stuff like that. I showed up the closest anyone got to my car was 10 feet. I was there for 45 minutes or so, checked out most cars by sticking my head in. "No one said hey that's my car ya got any questions?" It seemed very, I don't know you, so who cares. Maybe bad first impression, but a slightly modified 1966 Mustang should fit into a classic car crowd more than a street racer crowd. The cars there were also very rat roddy, a cool genre, but not welcoming. I swear my car was second newest there.

Hey CCr,
I must appologize if none of you came up to us. We're still trying to get our poop in a group and had one of the sponsors flake out on us. Most of us were having a meeting to figure out what we were going to do about that. I personally saw a couple of pictures that someone had posted on another board, and I didn't see half the cars there because I was inside.
Anyway, another bad thing is that a lot of the people that showed up headed over to Ricks to eat right when they got there, so we didn't even see them half the time either.
I'm sure things will settle down more as the season goes on and I hope that in the future you feel more welcome.
We actually had two new people show up this week from Twin Valley, MN, and it turns out that he knew my great uncle, so it's interesting what you find out when you have the time to sit and talk to people.
All of the "rat roddy" cars were members cars. We're a traditional hot rod and custom club, so you'll more than likely see those at the cruise nights. But anything and everything is welcome.
I know these sound like a lot of excuses, but we really don't want anyone to feel un-welcome. It'll take time to settle down, and time to grow, but I think it will end up being a good thing for our community and hobby in the area.
Just a heads up to everyone, Ricks is supposed to be working with us a little more in the future to have some tables outside for people to sit and eat, drink, etc., so we're hoping that will be a good chance for people to sit down and relax and do some bench rodding with one another.

Well, we're still kinda getting the run around from Ricks. We were supposed to be able to park on the other side of the building between FCC and Ricks, and they were supposed to have worked something out for a food deal, seating, something.
We'll see what happens. Nobody is really "sponsoring" anything other than offering us the space at this point. We're not getting anything out of it other than having a place to gather every week. I'd like to see some kind of discount on food or something at Ricks so people can grab a bite to eat while they're getting to know one another.
