those are usually only good to 120dB or so last I checked.

Edit: Just checked 126dB. Not quite loud enough for some of our exhausts.

i got an exhibition driving ticket. not for my exhaust but for my intake. i'll say it is louder than some people's, very few of them, exhaust, but three points off my license, complete bull.

as for the loudness of exhaust on a vehicle, i believe it's supposed to be something like 90+/-5db at 6ft (maybe 3?) when idling or at 1000rpm. one would want to check for sure before making a big deal out of it.
