wow, well for some reason if you don't get that car, my buddy might be selling his 91 Crx with an Ls swap, not too sure yet. if you want you can pm me for more details about it.
ls/vtec or just ls? and what style is it? asking price? -
actually disregard if its over 1000... I want to build her myself and know that she's done right. but thanks for looking

ok that's cool. well when you come out with us this weekend you could still take a look at it.

You said that you'd like to use it reliabley for deliverys and such... As we all know honda's are pretty damn reliable. However, turbo'ing a D16 isn't the most reliable thing to do.
CRX's will fly with a turbo kit, just becuase of the fact that they are so light. 13's are very attainable even on a fairly small setup.
Honda D16's are very very cheap I remember when I was looking for them, there were tranny + motor for $450 shipped or less....
However, to buy the supporting mods for it, you're prob going to be spending as much as the car for the turbo setup, or more to do it right. You've got a sweet WRX, maybe just use this one as a car you can depend on driving? That'd be my opinion anyway.

your right....you should just swap in a d16 and turbo it....should get you into 13's w/o a problem

I see what you are saying in regards to just modding one car... but to have a beater in the 13's and having a wrx in the maybe high 12's def. low 13's would be ok with me... Given that turbo + honda = no good theory... the d16 will actually handle alright i think... It has low compression and people have ran 8 psi safely on them with no major problems... Plus there is really no engine management needed to do this. but i do respect what your saying and i have thought about it as well. I am almost done modding the wrx and i wanted to get onto another project. But for the winters up here i will be using the scooby and for the occasional drive i will be using her as well... no need to put soo many miles on her for just driving around town. hell everybody up here doesn't give a fuck what you really drive anyways. But gsx guy were you being serious or joking? i know either way it wouldn't matter but still.

Doesn't the HF have a manifold that can be used as a turbo manifold? If I remember right some d16 people use the HF manifold for their own turbo kits.

yep, just get an adapter plate $25-$50 and you can bolt a turbo on it. NightriderWRX PM me if you have questions about the crx.
ya can you tell me your mod's and such as well as driving experiences... I am on aim as NightriderWRX-Jon

a d16z6 with turbo would probably be the cheapest way to do it, but how cool would a crx with a k20 in it be? i have heard of people in the 11s just with the swap and slics. also its gonna be a stock engine with low miles for the most part so reliability is gonna be there imo more so then a turboed d16. its gonna cost an arm and a leg though.
you could also do a b16. that should put you close to your goal with a 160 hp just with the engine. they are actually reasonably priced also. the d16 is gonna be your cheapest option, but everyone and their mom has been wanting to do d16 turbo and b16 swaps lately. i was just suggesting something that would be different. there are only a handful of people that have done the k20 in the crx.

the reason why i shunned away from doing the k-series swaps, is that they are soo damn expensive... think about $750 motor mounts + $4,000-6,000 motor, tranny, ecu + the installation which is ??? <-- the install would be difficult because the motor would have to come up from the bottom, i believe... unless you have a lift i believe that its almost near impossible to do on your own... but i did look into it... I am looking at cheap fun right now... If i wanted to go balls out i would have considered it a done deal...

I own a 1988 Crx Si so if you have any questions I might be able to help.
How much horse power are you looking to hit? How much are you willing to spend?
If you only want 160 hp I would just swap it, but if you don't want to fuck with shift linkage, axels, mounts then pick up a d16z6 and turbo it.
BTW 97Cav's friends Crx is very very beat up, but pretty fast. If you want a nice clean crx that car would be a nightmare.
