A LOT of imports are manufactured in the U.S. Your DSM is still an import because of where it was designed.

No, the V8 TT Lotus was the Lotus Espirit.

The Elise has always had a 1.8L. The NEW Elise has the Toyota GT-S 1.8L, just as the European versions had in the past.

The US Elise's in past years had a Honda B18C5 under the hood.

The Z06 shouldn't get raped. Really, depending on gearing and weight, a new base model Corvette might be closer than you'd expect.

I think that Elise would beat both, though. 🙂

I agree. The new Z06 is much much lighter than the 500 , cobra, and saleen, with similar or more hp/tq.

[QUOTE=ticklemedaly]I know, I have always just found it funny that ford actually attempted to put a turbo in a mustang.....which in the first place should have a damn big ass motor in it. One day, theyll wake up and realize that they should bring in a bigger motor, and build it right to where itll compete against a vette.....

Daly, first off, there is not a camaro or any other car for that matter to compete with the mustang, they are kinda on their own, second, Ford designs mustangs with the aftermarket in mind so that you don't have to pay corvette price to make them faster than a vette, they now have in place a data sharing program for easier after market stuff, third, supercharging they thought was better due to no lag and of course the low end torque that comes with them, and finally, you don't need a bigger motor when you can build one that can handle 2000 hp, you just need to worry about the other parts that will break. My .02 cents as a mustang lover, now that I know what jdm stands for, I can pick on it if you like

I know, I do like mustangs, but just as a mech/tech, really hate working on fords in general. Mustangs really need superchargers, as my car does too. IMO, Mustangs shouldn't come with less than 8 cylinders, as with the Camaro, Vette (I know, it doesn't, but just to put in category)....to me, these are all great domestic cars, known for their history. And yes, you can make fun of my JDM too, if you feel the need to. 😄
