15 Things I Leaned On My Trip To Chicago
-
15 - When you are driving in two cars, don't decide to take an exit at the last minute because the second car won't be able to make it. (Sorry Patrick)
14 - Did you guys know that there is a two storie McDonalds in downtown Chicago? I didn't.
13 - $16 for parking for 2 1/2 hours is enough to piss anyone off. Especially when its not advertised and the first hour was $12 alone.
12 - Don't take a one way in chicago unless there is an easy scape goat like the Wall-Greens Parkind lot. (It saved my @$$)
11 - Everything in chicago is an extra dollar. ($1.00 extra for the card at ESPN Zone in downtown chicago and $1.00 extra for a cup of cheese at HIN)
10 - There are WAY to many state patrols in Wisconsin. (We met almost 50 on the way there)
9 - People that work at restraunts in Wisconsin are inconsiderate. (Example; Arby's and the IHOP)
8 - Everyone in Chicago has tint and chrome dubs. (No matter what kind of vehicle they are driving)
7 - Everyone in Chicago drives a BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, or a Range Rover.
6 - Slow people need to get in the SLOW LANE!!!
5 - Walkie-Talkies were the best idea of the trip.
4 - BP stations are everywhere, even in the projects.
3 - Getting lost in the Chicago projects for 2 1/2 hours is not a great idea at 11:00 on a friday night. (There was definately some exchanging of drugs and prostituting going on)
2 - I hate Wisconsin. (All together, Wisconsin can kiss my @$$) I'm sorry for the people that have to live there.
1 - I hate Chicago toll booths (I went through 8, I took out 1). No damage, But I had a nice beauty mark until I stopped to clean it off.But most of all, the car show was everything I thought it was going to be and then some. Pictures will be coming soon. Also, If you have never been to chicago, I highly recomend it. Its a beautiful town we had an emaculate view from atop the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

haha nice write up. didn't spend much time in downtown this trip but been there before. on the dot on everything...including the 4 dollar ice cream cone at HIN.

nah, thankfully they were all on the other side pulling other people over or just sittin in the middle writin up tickets but their everywhere. Especially since it's full of tree's so you dont know if theyre hidin back there and are snipin or anything.
Stupid state with a stupid football team.

Hey I never have problems with cops when I am coming home from Fergus. The only place you really have to watch is right when you cross over into WI in Hudson I think it is.
I have yet to get pulled over in my own car in WI.

you dont like the tollways? lol yeah those blow ass...no one got pulled over in wisconsin did they? they are expensive and make you pay on the spot...
Yeah, they were all on the other side or they already had someone pulled over on our side but my god, they were everywhere. And there were so many roads in the trees between the two highways that they could hide in. You had to be very careful, I'm glad I had a good eye with me. When I was going through the second tollway I started growing impatient and I pretty much slid through it and broke the b*tch in half. It left some yellow paint on my windshield but I got it off with some spit and a razor blade. -

The stuff wasnt that much more expensive compared to events at the fargo dome or the alerus center, its just they charge you that extra buck for everything. You pull out 3 dollars and then they add another one for a plastic container with a tablespoon of cheese in it. It catches you on the blind side. -
nicely written John.
sure glad my mom told me to eat carrots as a kid...helped my eyesight out quite a bit.
do not forget all the vette's we saw enroute there as well as on the return trip.
saw more Mini's last weekend then i had seen in the last few years.
lots of battle scars on vehicles. some minor and some pretty serious.
do not forget about the $2.75 water in the rooms.definitely a trip to talk about for years to come.
this was my first trip to the big city. i was expecting big but what i got was much more than big. i lived in the SF bay area for 4 years, nov of 2003 i went to KC for USACi finals, been through the Twin Cities many a time, grew up close to Des Moines, IA and well not a single one of those prepared me for Chicago. it was HUGE. seems like there is always something to do or see as well. at least that is the impression i gathered.and for a last note here.
walkie talkies are the bomb. they so saved alot of hassles and headaches and roam minutes on the cell phones. now i need to get me my own pair.thanx for the invite John.
we doing this again?Monty

yes, well put John...and don't worry about me coming to a screeching halt on an exit. I'm just glad the avenger didn't suffer the same fate as my last car. and if could answer Monty's question...yes, we will be doing this every year, given we are able. Chicago kicked our asses a couple of times but i have know regrets. Definitely the trip of a lifetime.
