Beretta's are FWD only. They came with a 2.2 I4, 2.8 V6 (88-89?), 3.1 (90-??) and the Quad4. I don't remember which came with which, but there was the Base Beretta, GT, GTU, GTZ, INDY and Z26. Alot more info is available --> http://www.beretta.net/model_info/index.htm

isn't a 3100 just a 3.1 with a fancy name? I mean, other than maybe sequential fuel injection and a different air plenum it's essentially unchanged. GM just starting using marketing speak for their engines in about 96.

a 3100 is actually a lot better motor...the heads are different and it flows a lot better...it kind of shifted the power band more mid-high range instead of the regular 3.1 that was all low end and no high end...definately not to be considered the same at all...

then I stand corrected. A 3100 is 1000 times better than the 3.1....

and if u put the 3400 top end on a 3100 u'll gain about 30hp cause it flows alot more

I'll tell rick hi for ya chuck, he couldn't make it to devil's run cause they got evicted from their place and they are extremely short on cash

but for those who car to get more knowledge about a car no one likes:) here is some info

88-90s had 2.0, 2.2, 2.8 and quad4. 2.0 and 2.2(were avaliable 90-96) only came in base models. 2.8s came in the GT models and GTU models. 90 GTZ only came with a 2.3 quad4 HO and 5 speed muncie, no options for v6 or automatic. 91-94 quads had 10 less HP than the 90s GTZ. If u can find a 94 Quad Z26 they are rare, also if u find a GT with GTU rims and interior with a w26 on the sticker in the trunk they are also rare to find. 3.1s came in 90-93, then 94-96 had the options of the 2.2 and the 3100 SFI

as for motor swaps most ppl just take their 3100s out and install 3400s since they don't need a new ECU. There is one guy installing a 3800SC and there is 2 guys working on a Quad4 SC and a few have turbo quad4s.

but thats enough about boring you:)

funny part is u can pick up the whole top end for like 150-250 bucks for everything u need but gaskets.
