Ya, the pics are gone now. The cheap ass amp he had was sitting on the back seat with wires strewn all over the place, and I mean... Everywhere. The real kicker though was the sub enclosure. The guy had hollowed out a birch tree log and nailed plywood on each end. No ports, but he cut 3 square holes about 2x3" each to run the wires in and out of on the side of the log. Kind of a homemade bazooka tube... HICK STYLE!

dear god, somebody teach this man something about sound..... outta curiosity, anyone know what the resonant frequency of birch is?

birch plywood is actually like the 3rd best wood for sound quality behind MDF and Particle Board (high density particle board).

however, from what I understand, this was still a hollow stump, not nearly as dense as plywood. MDF always works well, I dont intend on converting to birch yet....

you are right, this was a hollowed stump. I'm sure the kid heard someone say "use birch" for your enclosure....he took them too literally.
