Is your Auto X track paved? I have been looking for a place to Auto X but my car is by no means an off road car... and its a little late to join a league in the cities... and I dont really think there is a place around here that hosts Auto Xing. We should find a business thats willing to rent out their parking lot or something for weekends and fargostreet could host auto Xing and charge like $10 or $15 to race... im sure it would be pretty popular.
Peace!

Well im sure you could talk to a lawyer and get some kind of a non-liability contract and have everyone sign it. I know there are some Auto X events that arent associated with a league that have contracts like that. Pretty much... if you crash your car or do any damage its your fault and you pay for it.
Peace!

RobThats a good Idea and something to look into. I'm in on the idea if you want to start doing research.
My track is not paved it is on farm land, and though some trees. You pretty much have to buy a old car and just race it around out there. There is space to park your cars to so you dont have to hall them around all the time.

Yes, Badlands Region SCCA needs a track in this area for sure. As for insurance and stuff, why can't people just sign a waiver?

auto crossing would be fun...but how about that gtg..thats why i created this thread, i wanna see some of the new cars on this board and i also wanna get a group together to cruise...let me know what the best day would be for everyone.

how about tomorrow night sometime? does that work for people?
-
ok...so which is gonna work better, tonight or tomorrow night?
-
wednesday will be a nicer night (60s) insatead of 50s tonight...
but yeah, I might swing out anyway (but like I say, after 9:00) so if anyone's gonna meet up, I'll check back when I get home tonight and head out.
otherwise, how about 7:30 Wednesday night (I don't know, where's a good lot? Walmart again?)

if its a dirt track wouldn't that make it more rallycross than autocross? If you guys REALLY want to autocross or do a road course, I strongly suggest looking into www.aarrf.com and doing some racing in St. Cloud. They also have a drift course. If you go, tell Llew and Charlie that I said hi. Next race is in a couple weeks I think. Oh, and its like $70 to race, there is no prize money, its just a track day.
Also, Minot, ND is having Autocross this weekend at Motor Magic.

is it that much?
I'd look into joining MNAutoX when they are in St. Cloud. I believe it's around $30 to race (look at www.mnautox.com) with them at their events. They'll also run on a "course" down in bloomington, otherwise I beleive all of the rest of their events are "parking lot" style.
A dirt track is well, yeah.... okay I guess?
As far as real autox in this area......if someone else is seriously interested (I am) lets do some thinking this winter and see if we can come up with an applicable area (parking lot for instance) to hold such an event. ...then talk to either the badlands chapter of SCCA or MNAutoX (or SCCA-LOL or whatever) and see if they'd be intersted in coming in with their timing equipment to run the show... (I think it was MNAutoX that ran the AutoX at the fargo dome back when the dome first went up...read that on their website here this spring IIRC)
but yeah, back to your regularly scheduled programming.. (I guess if someone is intersted in that whole AutoX concept, PM me or something sometime....we can do some talking/deliberating)
