you could have built it up before the initial completion of the swap... at least that way your car could actually have balls... Now your still going to be losing to stock v8 mustangs and what not
hhmm.......i guess there is at leat one of you in each forum. to each his own dude. from the time and money i have invested in this car, I'd say I have done pretty well so far. but thanks anyway!

naw, i bought the car wrecked with no motor, It came with the original hydro tranny and some 17 inch wheels. I sold the tranny and the wheels for what I bought the car for. so it was basically free. dustin bowers of bottineau, nd had the car before me. he blew the motor up and got in the accident. the car is at Roadsounds in minot, i work there and have been crankin' on the car now for over 6 months. As far as why I chose the motor, here is the story. I was originally gonna buy the b16a motor and just keep it stock and have a good daily driver for when I was in college. I made the order to JHP and they fucked up the order. So they gave me the b16b instead for the same price. I paid considerable less for the type r motor, so it wasn't my intention to build this for racing. it still isn't. college takes so much time and money that I just dont need the risk of building a racing car when i need it everyday for transportation. there it is. the story! thanks for coming out.

that's the thing with honda's and honda motors... the diff. between the b16's a/b are only a few horsepower in which you will barely feel a difference in... same with just about any honda motor why spend an extra 1000 dollars for 20 horsepower? hell for the amount you prolly paid for that swap you could have bought a decent car with go fast capabilites and stayed well into your college range... the thing i don't get is i know your looking for reliability with the since of some quickness and clean looks... yet you complain on costs of college and what not?

i dont recall once complaining the cost of anything. I have simply come on here to introduce myself to the forum and all the guys here and to hopefully to get to know some people in fargo as I know almost none. I have not made any bad impressions or bitched at anyone. I got the car for free, the swap for $3500, tell me I could have gotten a car for $3500 with "go fast" capabilities. Also, tell me how many type r b16's there are running around. I'm not here to fight with anyone or to make enemies. I will take your "constructive criticism" and not look back. I was very fortunate on getting this motor for that price. I am willing to work my ass off in college and get a damn good career out of it. I just dont need racing and the risk that comes with it. No matter who you are, you WILL get fucked in the end for racing some time or another. Its just not worth it to me. I am proud of what I have done to my car and the time and money and effort put into it. Its more than most can say about what they have done.

judging by your comments, you aren't a literature major, are you? you obviously lack reading comprehension; try sticking to the information being providing, instead of formulating your own conclusion and jumping to it.
in two posts, you've single-handedly managed to almost alienate a potentially valuable member. instead of it being because of something stupid that he said (ie "i have a 600hp cavalier, but i don't know a good place to take it for an oil change. any good places?") like the situations usually are, this conflict and problem was caused by YOU not being able to understand what you're reading.
please, get your head out of your tailpipe before your next post -

I can tell you there is a huge difference between all Honda motors, even if it's just "10hp."
I don't think the WRX is the choice for "fast capabilities" either. Don't seem to see very many fast WRXs. What is not "decent" about a basically free shell, and a cheap motor w/ a fresh paintjob? The car wont be blazing fast, but I'm guessing it should scoot pretty well for a daily driver.

like I said. Not trying to make enemies at all. I know it can suck moving somewhere and not know anybody. Just thought this would be a good place to get to know some people with my same interests before I move. You all seem like pretty decent guys/girls. Some more so than others obviously. Appreciate the comments though!

looks good man what color are you thinking of when all is said and done?

yeah, i paid jhp for the original one i got and waited two weeks for it to come.....no motor. So I called em up and they had already sold the b16a after I paid em and just "forgot" to tell me about it. I was a little pissed. So they just happen to have a b16b on hand and it was all down hill from there.
