Looking for Very decent sub amp (not a wanted ad)
-
Ok ive done my research and come to the conclusion that there are like 7 decent amp companies in my opinion. I have one mtx 9500 12in dual 4vc sub they say like 2000 watt max and they recomend like 750watt rms amp. ok i have a one ferrad cap and all the good wiring already in and i was running the older rockford fosgate bd1500d amp but i sold that. i was thinking on getting a diamond audio d6 amp the 1500 watt one dont remember the model number or a jl audio 500/1 amp. but then someone told me to check out phoenix gold and their octain r series amp and its like oh well i might as well check out the alpine v12 too. and ontop of this all i have an eclipse 7232 amp but its way big and way heavy so i want a different one.
help lol

I'd say put 1000 to 1500 watts per voice coil on that sub. we did a pretty large install with one of those and only used 1500 watts. It could have definately used another amp.

i say get 2 lanzar vibe 1200d's...they are VERY reasonable in price, and @ 1 ohm push right around 1250 RMS...NOT max, but that's the RMS...brand new on ebay with warranty they are $220. im not just saying this because ive researched them, but i used to own one...i regret selling it sooo bad...anywho, get what you think is best for you...just my .02

Like most everything else on Ebay, its probably a B-Stock refurbished amplifier for that price. As for brands.....Linear Power, Memphis, Zapco, JL Audio, Phoenix Gold Xenon, and Diamond are all good choices.

As would be Infinity for amplifiers
-
well right now i do have that eclipse 7232 amp that runs 4000 watts but i dont want to blow this sub
and im not intending this for spl sorry forgot to mention that i want some sq being that i only have one if that helps lol
-
My list remains unchanged based on those qualifications
-
infinity has huge amps ??
-
not huge, but if its DVC you could run a pair of them for the same price as huge amps
-
I would check out those Lanzar Vibe Amps.

I dont think you're gonna get much SQ out of a 9500. Those things like to rattle stuff from what I can tell.

I'm still going to stick w/ the 1500 watts per voice coil haha. Bump time.
Make up for the bass w/ a couple sets of components.

I was about to ask is the 9500 really a SQ sub?

for an spl sub it sounds phenominal then again at this very moment i have 2000 watts per coil and its nice but its not an eclipse or something tighter than a wet pussy fart lol anywho back to the world of the less demented its a decent sub functions for what i want it to the amp is just soooo huge that i have to have it one a seperate rack thats just not practical
