This is not a gas fight thread, I just noticed that the holiday on 25th and 32nd is 10cents cheaper than anywhere else in fargo, Moorehead near cashwise and walmart has one that runs about the same price. I was thinking that if we that want to use premium all use the same stations and tell them how much we like their low prices, that they can keep them low. I did it last night at that holiday, he said that he noticed the difference around town too. they pay the same price for premium as any other gas, so lets help them sell more premium for cheap and make some money.

gas stop in moorhead, between hornbachers and dairy queen is almost at least 5cents cheaper than any other station around the FM area. When its 2.11 for regular its 2.05 or 2.04 there.

Its just a mom n pop owned one is all. They dont have a need for a bigger better store or pumps if the one they have now is working. I bet the building is paid off and everything so they're just fine leaving it as it is. Gas shouldnt be different from one station to the next other than the price and some added cleaners at places like BP and such, who rape you pricewise.

I wish I could run that 110 leaded race gas. I pay $5/gal for the 104 R/M octane... and I have to drive 10-15 miles to get it. (it was 4.25 last year)

Good to know about the 25th and 32nd location though. I always try to give the low-baller my business. Too bad all premium gas isn't 92 octane.

It's basically a proven fact that there is very little if any difference between 87,89,91 and 92 octane performance wise. The stuff with ethenol is the best stuff out there in my opinion 'cause it burns cleaner and just theorising a bit a little hotter based on what I know about E85 which I believe is about 107 octane and burns alot hotter than normal gas so you can't use it for most cars pre 2000 with the exception of certain ones.

Another theory as long as talking about race gas. If E85 is 107 octane could that be a low buck alternative to race gas. Anybody ever consider this or try it, If it works think how much money you'd save on track day.

well when your running boost on an N/A motor im pretty sure regular gas is not an option!

on a sidenote...sleepermaxima bradys in moorhead on 8th street has 100octane unleaded in the pump if you can run that...?

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

E85 is actually 113 octane and $1.44/gallon. If you want to run E85 you need to use alcohol safe fuel line and retune for it being that you need to burn more of it.

in a stock car, probably not. but hell, even my nearly stock ass 94 Thunderbird will detonate if I run 87 - needless to say I don't run 87 anymore. (only thing different is it was dyno tuned)

So what's the highest octane my 4 banger can run? It has the usual aftermarket stuff. Intake, header, exhaust, ignition. No internal work.

sonofa! I called that store and the lady that I talked to said that they only had leaded race fuel... nothing unleaded. This was a couple months ago and maybe things have changed over there since then. Oh well.

                                  Thanks for the info.

Do you know how much they are charging for it? I can mix pump with the 104 at about 1:1 to give about 98 octane (which is perfect for that pig). The price for that is about 3.75 after I average the prices per gallon.

I've been meaning to research this but I have not found anything more than what I read from second-hand sources (like from forums like this). I would like to have a solid basis before I start retooling my setup.

I've been doing a little research for the next NDSU formula SAE car. I think there is some information about it on the North Dakota Corn Growers Association website. But all you need is new fuel line (I think steel braided is alcohol resistant) and then a new fuel map and you're ready to go.

in GF we have 100 or 110 for $3.95 a gallon. IMO its not a bad price, considering i am only getting 3 gallons at a time.
