Drunken minds get melvin details mixed up. I know there was not a cobra in 02. They definitely did wait until 03 for the big reveal, SVT has kind of a policy, they bring out a model when there is a model due for more hp, they wanted an all wheel drive contour (I think) But budget did not approve. Notice how they did not come with an svt for at least a year after the new model? They even waited for the 'vert version. It's not a constant, which is kinda nice, it creates a certail allure and exclusivity.

when swapping everything, it's all about personal preference; it isn't a matter of gains, but whether or not you can handle a manual transmission.
insert classic response "if you have to ask, you can't afford it"

Its not hydraulic. Thats why some people bitch that the clutch on a Mustang is too heavy. Personally, I like a heavier clutch.

if you've got good credit, anyone will give you a loan. go on, forget about your debts... make the minimum payments on everything and get buried in debt; don't you want to be like the average american? -
I would advise educating yourself with what you can do before getting into mods. magazines are a good start. subscribe to all the mustang one that you can, and read them, not just look at the pretty girls and cars.

I will be taking a loan out through my bank, would it be better to leave it an automatic?? With Cobra Engine or another mustang engine that would be better?? I need help Im tired of bein known as the riced out mustang, The tail lights and neons will stay just cuz I like them, but now I need to get some power in that pony. So heres my main questions....
1.What engine should I get
2.Manual or automatic
3.Should I leave it a V6 supercharge it and mod the hell out of it(Ive heard of 10 and 11 second V6s)
All your opinions will be appreciated!! Also does anyone know where I could get a decent job?? -
Sell the V6 and buy a GT or Cobra. It will cost you less in the end, the car won't be hacked together, and you will be able to sell it one day. It sounds like you have no idea what in the hell you are doing as far as an engine swap goes, so I would say to not even try.
-
mod the hell out of a v-8 and supercharge it. the tranny thing you need to think of what you preffer and is it worth the money in your opinion to have a manual. you also should think 5 or 6 speed for manual, and what about upgrading to a differant auto tranny look at the reliability and what they can handle. doesn't the 05 stangs have a 5speed auto??
-
The difference in insurance is not all that much with a V6 compared to a V8. I pay 800 every 6 months for full coverage on my Mustang GT. It would be a hell of a lot less with liability only.
There is a lot that goes into a V8 to V6 swap. Here is a list of some of the major things that need to be swapped:
Motor
Tranny
Rear End
Driveshaft
ECU
Wiring Harness
Instrument Cluster
Suspension
Brakes
Fuel System
ExhaustYou can see that there is a lot of stuff tha need to be swapped. There is no way in hell that he will be able to pull of a swap like that when you have to ask what engine and tranny is best to use. Thats why I say, don't even try it.
