here's a thought... if it takes a wierd turn and hits the mississippi river... we could get hit too, it could come right up here.. I talked about this tonight with my bf and his parents... it's possible... and I hope that wouldn't happen. cause then a hole shit load of people are screwed.
theres no way ever a hurricane will ever hit fargo. the mississippi river water isnt warm enough like it is in the gulf of mexico to fuel a storm. only hurricane we'll experience are dinky severe thunderstorms. i know im a dork but anybody watchin the newsman? its pretty funny when they fight the winds and talk into the mic.i filled up with 91 last night at 2.60 in moorhead. gonna be interesting how fast it goes up in short lil time.

btw hurricanes flow in a counter clock wise motion. they dont even make it through a state without losing categorys(hence it was a category 4 when it just made land fall about 12 hours ago, now its a category 1 and will prolly be a tropical storm tonight or morning). but if they come up through the gulf, they usually veer off to the east. only chance is if the pacific gets a hurricane, which is never(to cold of water) and somehow some way california breaks off the USA, nevada blows up, Utah continues to suck so the cane will go around it, montana will bore it so itll skip that, then just want to skip the whole state of North dakota and then hit just fargo.

it is really funny watching them guys trying to report and they are fighting winds and bad rain.. haha I hope they get paid alot for doing that, I'm sure they might

Wow, seeing some of the damage on cnn.com really starts to put things into perspective. Katrina caused a hellacious amount of damage.
I can't imagine being from southern Mississippi, Louisiana or Alabama right now.Seeing the pictures reminds me of Grand Forks in '97, only New Orleans is 10 times the size of Grand Forks
Unbeleivable! I can't imagine what the aftermath is going to be like.
My thoughts and prayers are with those people. -

^lol, dick.
I dunno, The idiots that are stranded, it's one of them things that theyre trapped, might die, you feel bad...but to stay at home for a FUCKING CATEGORY 4 HURRICANE, youre just stupid as hell.
I surely woulda gone to the super dome, you woulda been safe, but their getting evactuated outta there now, which is even better news. Bet those morons are second guessing their decision to "ride it out" and be mr. tough.

So how much in aid funds do you think we'll recieve from countries? I know we get a bad rep if we dont send aid right away(hence the Tsunami) but we sent MILLIONS or perhaps Billions, i dunno the exact # in money, supplies, medicine, help.
How much do you think we'll see from countries we've helped out in the past. Or else perhaps the UN getting involved and sending troops from other countries to help with search and rescue?
I predict 0 foreign troops, and not a red cent for funds.
If this is the answer, I hope Bush would never help any of these pocket digging bastard countries ever again.

Aid from other countries will be minimal. I'd expect that Canada and the UK will provide a token amount of relief. Yes, I know, we shell out too much away from home and don't take care of those that need it here.
I HOPE zero foreign troops. That would send a bad signal to the rest of the world and show a sign of weakness.
Its a double edged sword being the richest country in the world, on one hand you wanna say fuck the rest of the world, but on the other that is what lead to the downfall of every great empire in history.

Anyone else still keeping up with the news? Here is what is currently going on: shops being looted, carjackings, cops being killed in the street, 80% of the city under water with bodies floating in the flooded ruins.
I can't find any news site that can confirm this, but there is a rumor on another site that I am on that says that the city of New Orleans is now under Marshal Law. Like I said, I haven't found anything to confirm this yet.
Shit just keeps getting worse.
