in MY opinion our government sucks. they know that gas to us "kids" as they call us is like water, or medicine for a sick person. we need it and they know that. no matter what we do our economy still will go down and they will still profit. i think that bushs goal now is to get the usa out of debt and he doesnt care who he has to run over to do that

im riding my motorcycle everywhere I go...50 miles/gallon. That means I have to fill up less. We should all get bikes or hybrids. But then they would just raise the price more because everbody was filling less.i really like the bike idea. was going to buy one but found a 240 for dirt cheap and i'll be happy with high 20's on the highway and high teens in town. that like double the milage i get with the jeep

This never works. Now, if we got everyone in the US to ride their huffys for a month, we might put a dent.exactly. keyword being 'might.'
not buying gas on one day means that people just have to buy more gas on other days. either way, they still make the same amount of money.. just on different days.

i was just watching cnn and the reason for the high gas prices is for this big hurricane and that makes no sense. you would think that if all these cities are flooded that there would be no need for gas there so it would be cheaper else were. but thats not how it works.

Wow!
Oil is produced in the Gulf of Mexico. -
And alot of other places...
Seriously, because crude oil production is down, that means that within hours the price at the pump is affected? fuck that, when i worked at a gas station, we got filled up by the tanker once a week, at the most.
but i really dont care, i will buy gas no matter what price it is at, and really do not look or care about the price. its worthless even thinking about it

NOT AS MUCH BEING PRODUCED.... SUPPLY AND DEMAND sucks for us great for the refinerys that are still going

All the bitching and moaning about gas prices doesn't change shit. As Americans we are crying about gas prices but do the math and convert liters to gallons and their currency to American currency and see what everyone else is paying. Eg. the UK is at about $9 American per gallon, the Netherlands is at about $6 American per gallon.
Oh, and even if everyone in the WORLD didn't buy gas for a day, it wouldn't change the fact that you don't live in this house and the guy that supplies gas to us does.

uk has free health care, that takes away from the hit

lol Canada pays almost PER litre as much as we do PER gallon. And what the Gov't has to do with Hurricane Katrina totally demolishing our main rigs, i have no idea.
Liberal idiots, let me guess, Bush started Katrina cause his brother Jeb(florida gov) didnt build enough buildings/add ontot he state to actually slow down katrina when it blew through it last week.
America has it so much easier then the rest of the world in terms of gas. Just dont kick it down everytime...and you wont need to fill up as much.

where the hell did you get your numbers??? canada pays about $1.00 CAN per liter. and the UK pays about $5.60 per gallon in US dollars. where the hell did you come up with $9 a gallon!?>? HERE is where I got my information. and something rotten is afoot regarding gas prices in the US, becaue while ours have doubled, actually trippled almost in the last decade, UK';s has onlt gone from about $4.50/gal to $5.60/gal.
I will blame most of the gas prices on shrub. OPEC says its not a supply problem, the gas prices are high because of POLITICAL reasons. just wait 10 yrs, the truth will come out, lol
McAdam
EDIT: summer 2001, I remember gas being under 1.00/gallon. I KNOW this because my English roommate made a point of taking a photo of it and mailing it back to his parents in London, who were then paying the equivelant of $4.50/gal.
