My freind from when I used to live in phoenix just got into head porting on a regular basis..... the RESULTS speakl for them selves. I think for a port job of this level he charges $1000. Mind you, thats cheap for picking up 45WHP on a 4 cylinder motor. My freinds screen name is 1 fast Z, by the way.

Im not trying to pimp his services nor do I get a "cut" I have seen a few posts here about head porting and where to get it done and all that crap lately, so I thought Id share.

$1000 for 44 wheel HP on a 1.6L 4 cylinder. and if you took the time to read, it never peaked because the rev limiter kicked in before it made peak power. granted, these are mini cooper S's, so they are supercharged, but it went from 174whp to 218whp with no other mods.

What I am getting at is a company like alaniz (endyne, portflow, RLZ to name some others) has proven over and over again that their porting can not be beaten for gains and quality of work. I believe it something like $900-$1000. Not bashing your buddies work, but I'm taking a skeptics point of view and saying that he's not going to be able to beat an alaniz or endyne job.
