That company only provides one chip, which has only been tested on the stock turbocharger. There's some other company that is selling chips on eBay now, though. I think it's called JRE.

the turbo kit I was kinda basing off of was on racing mazda. and it requires a new manifold and new exhaust system. but yeah I don't know how to get around the VAF unless I need to somehow reprogram the ECU and everything else to make it work with a bigger turbo.

barry let me know if that made any sense, if it didnt' i can try to explain better

This is the eBay chip I was talking about. Based on the description, I'm guessing it's a direct ripoff of the InjectTech chip.

I don't know of anyone that can reprogram the 89-92 Probe GT ECU for a custom application. I recommend going with Megasquirt. There is a company that has someone who has made it work with both fuel and spark control using the stock distributor. www.prdonline.com

There's always the old FPR+FMU option, but again, I don't think that's a good idea. Yeah, a million people use FMUs, but a standalone is so much more precise.

Oh, by the way, I have never seen the Racing Mazda kit on any 1st-gen Probe.

FMU=junk. Go with megasquirt and actually tune your fuel and ignition maps. Your car will thank you.

very interesting stuff you bring up here barry, I will admit I don't know much about the electronics of an engine or how to tune them in(never done it) but do you think with this chip I would be able to upgrade my turbo/boost. I read on the stuff about that chip that the factory fuel system could handle the change. any other area's that I need to look into? I know I need a whole new manifold setup and exhaust. but how about in the engine and electronics?

again I must say thanks guys for puting up with me here, it helps a great deal!

With one of those ECU chips, you are stuck with whatever settings it comes with. www.injecttech.com says nothing about reburning it after getting dyno results. It's suspected that the guy selling them stole someone else's work, so who knows how much he can and can't do with the ECU program. He has no dyno results, and I wouldn't trust that chip to have the right settings for fuel and spark with more airflow from a bigger turbo.

You'll also want to upgrade your fuel injectors. Since you are going with Megasquirt(hint, hint), you can do that upgrade easily. Now that we're on that subject, it would be helpful to know what kind of horsepower figure you want for your max boost. It's helpful for shopping for injectors.

lol, that was kinda random. as for hp I think anything over 200 would be nice but if I could get to 300whp I would stop there I think. any more and I would wind up doing something dumb.

250 whp has been done. I've yet to see an F2T dyno at greater than ~250 whp without nitrous, though.

If I ever get to those numbers I was pretty sure I would need nitrous
