An idea for the Fart canners

I have heard many excuses from the fart canners on why they run the fart cans. Most is they say they cannot afford a good exhaust system that will deliver the performance yet deliver it at quieter yet more pleasant decibles. Yet a lot of them drive late model cars (yes mostly civics). Anyway I have found if you opt for the 80s or early 90s cars you dont have the huge payment. You probably wont have one at all which will leave you with plenty of green to get the good exhaust. Plus you can them prolly afford the car to be turbo from the get go. Like the early RX7s, Supras, and 300ZXs. Yes there is plenty of aftermarket for these cars. I have a ton of stuff that is Racing Beat. Which is high quality stuff. So the excuse of its to expensive could be resolved with buying a cheaper car with more potential at what you really want anyway. I have 88 RX7 TII I paid $3k for in cash. No car payments and plenty of $ left over for a nice exhaust, upgraded turbo, bigger injectors and so on. Basically I have the car built to go as fast as "I" can possibly get it to go on pump gas. My total cost is probably $7-8k including the new rubber. Anyway the car looks good, there is not a lot of nice looking ones around anymore which helps it to be a bit more original. Anyway this is just a suggestion. The trade off being you dont have a late model car with a fart can and the whole line of APC products from Checker glued to your car for a earlier model turbo car with the stuff that will let you go pretty damn good legally. Plus the early model turbo cars can grow with you as your budget grows and IMO will always be cool. I still think a 80s TurboZ is freakin cool. Anyway enough of my 2 cents. I am sure that some people just like the look at me factor they get from the fart can exhaust, bling wheels and APC body kits and stickers. So my suggestion is not a viable option. Well they now got the attention they wanted through various complaints from Fargo citizens and now they have the attnetion of the POlice.

I dont think it works out that way. Just because they have a late model car does not mean they have the necessary funds to purchase modifications. You can generalize peoples cars and what they do to them. All in all what a person chooses to do their car is his/her decision. They should be able to do whaterver they want. Because no matter what there will be a "hater" of your car no matter how it is put together. I dont think it is only the import crowd that has pissed off the citizens and police department, the domestic crowd has also done that. Whoever chooses to drive like an idiot deserves a ticket, not because they have a "look at me" car.........

Some people are forced to purchase a late model car because that is all the bank will accept for collateral on a car loan (usually can't be 5+ years old or something like that). What I don't understand is if the person wants to make it faster, the automatic first "mod" is exhaust. There are other things that are cheaper, easier to install, and net you more power gain. No, we know full well that the only reason these people put this loud exhaust on their cars is for the "bling bling look at me" factor. They could care less about how much power they gain. Just as 99SlowGSX just said, they were looking for attention, and now they have it.

I have a can on my car becuase my original muffler rusted off. I got it for free, so i put it on. Also, you think that "fart can"s are what get people called in? honestly the loudest import cars in town that I know of(streetable, of course) are chucks, Frietags, and kenn millers GSR. ALl 3 of them have "reaL" exhaust. Point being, just because you strap an aftermarket muffle on your car doesn't mean it gets super loud. It changes the tone. Is changing the tone on your horn illegal? -

Well obvoiusly what is legal for exhaust has now changed. Sorry for offering up some suggestions for my fellow import crowd. Also who cares if I have posted 1 or 10 times are you gonna try to put a law on that now to...? LOL Anyway your right why should I give a fuck it does not concern me my exhaust is fine. Also if their exhausts are the loudest of the import cars in town then they are obviously not street legal. As we all now know loud annoying assed exhausts are no longer legal. If they were they would not be subject to tickets. Anyway your right that was a bad idea new civics with fartcans are the shiznit. Sorry for posting 10 times on this subject. Maybe instead of trying to help offer suggestions on here I should just pick up the phone and start taking license plate #s when I ever I see a fartcanned whatever since people on here tend to come off a s abunch of pricks. I am sorry I offended the fartcanners on here. I will just quit participating on this forum all together and just start being a real dick and turn people in from now on.
