GM files bankruptcy?

I heard it last night from Fox Cable News that GM, the largest auto corp in the world could be file for bankruptcy, true or just a rumor?

I think it could be true, due to the lack of sales, for there they came up with the Employee Discount. Last month they sold 20%(Fuji Heavy Industry, which is Subaru) of its shares to Toyota. Anythoughts?

I had heard this too.......Kinda follows a disturbing trend, airlines and auto manufacturers are all beingforced to go bankrupt.........some forcing their employess to strike.....it's all a Gov't Conspiracy (spelling?)

I do know that one of their own companies (DELPHI) is filing bankruptcy so I wouldn't be suprised if GM followed suit.

Their sales over the last few years have slipped, I'm almost positive in due time they will file bankruptcy..

No one these can compete with Honda, Toyota, or Hyundai..

All, and I mean ALL car companies have slipped in sales. Ford has taken a bigger hit than anybody. Toyota has taken less of a hit than all the rest and is projected to surpass GM as being the Global leader in about the year 2007. But even they still have taken a hit in sales.

actually i believe GM has taken the biggest hit. thus the selling of there stock in Subaru. why do you think that they have been draging the employee discount on all summer long..... nobody has been buying GM cars/trucks

Their quality has risen within the last few years coming close to that of Japanese and European auto manufacturers.
